Online Safety top tips for families

High Spen Primary has recently received the latest online safety training from the NSPCC for 2023.  This includes all current guidance and updates for staff, pupils and parents.  In school, we follow the PSHE Association documentation which includes embedded online safety objectives appropriate to each key stage and year group. Within this scheme, we also use resources from the ‘Be Internet Legends’ scheme of work and the ‘NSPCC’ amongst others.

The below link includes the top safety tips we share with our children in school to help them to prepare for being a part of the online world and support them if something happens online which they need guidance with.

Our children understand their own roll in ‘Staying Safe’. From Nursery to Y6, all children are involved in demonstrating how they can remain safe within school, within their community and when online. To the right is a presentation created by the children.
