School Performance Tables

The information below relates to the Y6 attainment in the school year 2022 – 2023.

Reading: 84% (National 73%) Reading at Greater Depth 44% (National 29%)
Writing: 80% (National 72%)
Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling 84% (National 73%) GP&S at Greater Depth 40% (National 30%)
Maths 80% (National 73%) Maths at Greater Depth 32% (National 24%)

68% of our children met the age-related standard in Reading, Writing and Maths combined – this was above the National average (60%)

Whilst we were delighted that the hard work of pupils (and staff) led to our Y6 attainment being above the National Average in all the measures listed above, we were equally thrilled to see higher than national Average Progress Scores too. The Average Progress Scores capture the hard graft we see from children with lower starting points too. These children often work really hard to make, outwardly, smaller levels of progress than some of their peers. At High Spen we look to celebrate effort and not just outcomes.

Reading Average Progess Score 4.1 (National benchmark is 0)

Writing Average Progress Score 0.4 (National benchmark is 0)

Maths Average Progress Score 3 (National benchmark is 0)
